Early Years Foundation Stage
Here at Tall Trees we value children learning through play and the importance of enjoying the many experiences we give them. We provide a structured and stimulating routine throughout the day, encouraging and sharing spontaneous activities led by the children. This fits in with the Montessori approach we take at Tall Trees.
The Early Years Foundation Stage covers the areas of:
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Personal, Emotional and Social Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
We follow the Curriculum Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years). This allows us to help each child move through their own Learning Journeys.
We then record via observations any progress that a child demonstrates. The EYFS helps staff to provide activities personal to each child which encourages all children to progress at their own rate.
This takes time - and it is important to be able to see a child on a regular enough basis in order to effectively plan the very best for them. This is one reason why children benefit from attending Tall Trees for at least a minimum of 3 sessions per week.
